The attribute information is complete as each sign location was visited. M-39 to be completed in early 2012.
Very reliable. Each mile marker sign was visited via a state vehicle to collect the information, one employee did the entire collection. Several locations have been re-visited to Q/C the data and no errors have been found to date.
Several miles of M-39 are missing due to construction during the summer of 2011. This data will be collected in early 2012 and the data set will be refreshed.
The method used to collect this data was by driving a state vehicle on the shoulder of the road and stopping at each mile marker sign location. A laptop running ArcGIS desktop software was running and a "hockey puck" GPS device was mounted on the roof of the vehicle. The positional accuracy is +/- about 20 feet.

A simple point and click was used to create the point and attribute information was then entered about each mile marker sign.
