Narrative Description The round barn at 4277 Irish Road was constructed using cement block, lumber from the property, and help from local 4-H members. The structure exhibits numerous doors and windows around its circumference. It is capped by an elaborately trussed roof with two pitches and a projecting gable dormer.
Statement of Significance The agricultural structure achieves significance as an unusual example of barn construction. Only a dozen octagonal and round barns have been documented in Michigan to date.
