| Narrative Description |
The two-story, frame Benjamin Bangs Residence exhibits a prototypical Greek Revival front massing and ornamentation. The plan is rectangular with one hip-roofed side wing. The facade is highlighted by a front door framed by paneled pilasters and capped by a fanlight-like molding and full entablature overdoor. The gable end terminates in a wide modillioned frieze below a boxed cornice with returns.

| Statement of Significance |
The Benjamin Bangs House is notable both as the residence of Benjamin Bangs and as a well-preserved example of Greek Revival architecture. Fentonville held its first civic election in 1863 and elected Benjamin Bangs as its first village president. Bangs built his finely detailed Greek Revival residence on South Leroy Street about 1866, the same year in which the area was recorded as Bangs' Addition to the village plat. Although the structure primarily is recognized as a fine residence, it also is credited with serving as a tea room, corset shop, and radio station at various times during its history. The house is currently a private residence.
